2012 Virtual Advocacy Day

Our annual MS Advocacy and Awareness Day is happening in Columbus on March 27, 2012.  Volunteers from across the state will meet with their policymakers in support of important legislative issues that affect people with MS.

We know that not everyone can travel to Columbus and we need YOU to reinforce our advocacy message from home.  PLEDGE NOW to participate with us virtually.

This year we will advocate for HB 332 The Ohio Livable Homes Tax Credit. The Ohio Livable Homes Tax Credit, will help families affected by multiple sclerosis (MS) make their homes safer or buy an accessible home.

Here are some ideas on how you can be a virtual MS Activist!

  •  Change your Facebook status on March 27nd to:

“I’m an MS Activist!  Today is Ohio MS Advocacy and Awareness Day.  Ask me how you can JOIN THE MOVEMENT and make a difference in the lives of Ohioans living with MS.”

  •  Change your Facebook picture to our logo during the week of March 26-30.
  •  Write a blog entry and share your story about MS and what you’re doing to make a difference!
  • Send an email to your state legislators about your experience with MS and the issue that you are most passionate about.  You can find out who your State legislators are by visiting (link). www.ohio.gov
  • Call your state legislators and personally invite them to attend the MS Advocacy and Awareness breakfast on March 27nd at the Riffe Center at 10 a.m.
  •  Call a talk radio show and share your story with the public in a call to action.
  •  Learn more about MS Activism by visiting our Facebook page and clicking on the “Become an MS Activist” tab.
  •  See how you can connect at www.msconnection.org

Don’t forget to make your participation count.  PLEDGE to participate in our virtual advocacy day today!
